Improving of the rail access to the Port of Gdansk- construction works for railroad line No. 226

General contractor: Polaqua Sp. z o.o./ work for the Dragados-Vias-Electren Consortium.

 

The purpose of the investment was to rebuild the existing 13-kilometer-long railroad line starting from the exit head of Pruszcz Gdański station, passing through Olszynka station and ending at the entrance head of Gdańsk Port Północny station.

 

The modernization was carried out with active train traffic on one of the two modernized tracks.

 

The purpose of the reconstruction was:

1. replacement of the surface: demolition of both tracks with segregation and removal of the excavated material to the landfill, construction of a sealed subgrade in the area of the Radunia River, construction of a sublayer of new ballast and laying of the tracks

2. reconstruction of the subgrade: removal of the old ballast and subgrade soils, reconstruction of the subgrade with new materials. Works performed by us:

● removal of humus layers 43,000 3

● excavation with disposal 142,840 m3

● execution of new substructure with delivery of aggregate 506,000 m2

● execution of embankments with supply of material 201,000 m3

● reinforcement of the subgrade with chemical stabilization

● reinforcement of the subgrade with soil replacement

● construction of a tight subgrade with drainage in the area of the Radunia River.
